Hello, I am Sophie
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Zurich, Switzerland.
Some years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn't in our long-range plans. Like many expatriate relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were intense—new processes, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
Culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning characterized the early days. Yet, routines gradually took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built BrightMeadowLab
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Switzerland.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is about:
- Hands-on experience from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site is not:
- A government tourism office resource
- Paid review platform
- An ordinary travel blog
Looking Ahead
